Chairperson - Mina Campbell Hibbs
Mina was elected as the first Chairperson of the North West River Inuit Community Corporation from September 2006 to October 2007.
Secretary - Waylon Williams
Originally from Cartwright, Labrador, Waylon has lived in Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Nain, Hopedale, and Makkovik (currently residing in North West River). Upon graduation from Henry Gordon Academy in Cartwright, Waylon accepted a position with the Hudson's Bay Company as Grocery Manager. He then went on to manage retail businesses in North West River, Nain, Hopedale, and Makkovik. In 1998 he opened his own business, and then went on to work as Economic Development Officer with the Makkovik Development Committee.
In March of 2001, Waylon joined the SmartLabrador Team as Regional Fieldworker serving the communities of Makkovik, Postville, and Rigolet. In June of 2002 he was promoted to Senior Field Worker with the SmartLabrador Initiative.
Working with the SmartLabrador Initiative Waylon was able to travel throughout all regions of Labrador giving him a unique perspective on the challenges and issues each region faces. It is this unique experience that Waylon hopes to utilize in his position as Executive Director with the Combined Councils of Labrador. "To me Labrador is one community, made up of different cultures. Labradorians are as unique as the land we live on."
In June of 2003 Waylon, his wife Kim and their son Brady moved back to North West River.
